First Responders and Frontline Workers First
We have been where you are. We have all experienced what it is to be a First Responder first hand.
Nobody should ever fight alone - our entire existence is to ensure that our brothers and sisters are never ever alone.
That is what sets us apart from anyone else. We get it. We all get it. We can honestly and genuinely empathize with you. That's a bold statement.
Critical Incident Processing
Unlike a CISD, a defusing is more simple and less reserved. It often takes place within 24-hours after an incident, at the First Responder’s and Frontline Workers headquarters. Although a Defusing has an educational piece attached to the peer support interaction, it also involves the opportunity to let those affected by a traumatic call or incident, know that they are supported; a Defusing also gives them an opening for the First Responders and Frontline Workers to share some initial thoughts about their experience in a confidential manner, with those directly involved with the incident. This, in itself, can assist those individuals move towards recovery.
Help Is a Call Away
First Responder Trauma Services realizes that suffering from a mental health crisis can often be a frightening and lonely experience. The stigma attached to the First Responder and Frontline Workers tribe, places and additional overwhelming stress on what may have already become an out of control crisis situation.
We at FRTS do everything we can to help alleviate, stabilize and treat the First Responder and Frontline Workers prior to them having to go to a hospital. If the situation is a medical emergency, FRTS will and can be there with them to ensure they receive the most effective and private treatment to ensure that their integrity is not compromised.

"Not everyone likes to drive a black Ford..."

Here at FRTS we know that not everyone likes to drive a black Ford.
Diversity is an integral part of our mission to best support frontline workers and their families by providing specialized and culturally competent counselors so that all clients feel understood and valued in their lived experiences.
Successful intervention and prevention begins when people feel free to be who they are and where they are in their healing journey, regardless of age, race, color, national origin, religion or sexual orientation.
